Student Ambassador Handbook

Academic Advising provides consultation for first-time entering students when they register for their courses. Academic Advising also works closely with faculty advisors to ensure students are on-track to graduate.

Academic Advisors are prepared to answer questions about the academic programs and requirements at UACCM. Advisors visit with students regarding academic concerns and can help students evaluate their academic progress.

All advising appointments can be scheduled online through Appointment Plus. Students can also schedule an appointment by visiting the Student Success Center or by calling 501-208-5307. Additional walk-in registration dates (no appointment needed) are offered prior to the start of each term.

Tips and Resources for Academic Advising

It is always best if you have an idea of your planned major. Tip: view UACCM's degree plans before your appointment.

If you plan to transfer to a 4-year college or university, it is helpful to know the major and course requirements for your major there. Tip: Use the Arkansas Course Transfer System to check transferability of courses.

Students are placed in classes their first semester based on ACT, ACCUPLACER, and COMPASS scores and/or high school GPA. Visit the Course Placement Scores page to see where you place.

To view the class schedule prior to advising, you can access the schedule here. Most classes are offered on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday schedule or on a Tuesday and Thursday schedule. We also offer online, hybrid, multi-mode, and evening classes.
